හම්බන්තොට දිස්ත්‍රික්කයෙන් බඳවා ගත් නිවාස සංවර්ධන අධිකාරියේ සේවයකයන් සඳහා රුපියල් මිලියන 480 ක මුදලක් වැටුප ගෙවීම සඳහා වියදම් කර ඇති නමුත් නිවාස ඉදිකිරීම සඳහා වැයකර ඇත්තේ රුපියල් මිලියන 350 ක මුදලක් පමණක් බව පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී නාමල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතා පවසයි.

The Kurunegala Magistrate’s Court today allowed the CID to launch a fresh probe into the sterilization charges against Dr. Mohamed Shafi of the Kurunegala Hospital.

It permitted the probe on a request made by the CID.

The CID on Thursday informed Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne that there was no evidence to show any connection to an alleged abduction of the Swiss Embassy employee Garnier Banister Francis.

The Central Environmental Authority (CEA) is studying on imposing a ban on the usage of single use plastic or disposable plastics like drinking straw, CEA Director of Investigation N. F. Gamage told Daily Mirror.
