සෞදි අරාබියෙන් පිටව යන ශ‍්‍රී ලාංකික ශ‍්‍රමිකයින්ගෙන් කිසිඳු ගාස්තුවක් හෝ දඩ මුදලක් අය නොකිරීමට සෞදි රජය තීරණය කර තිබෙනවා.

එම්.ටී. නිව් ඩයමන්ඩ් නෞකාවේ ඇතිවූ ගින්න හේතුවෙන් ශ්‍රී ලංකා රජයට සිදුවූ අලාභය පිළිබඳ පූර්ණ වියදම් ඇස්තමේන්තුවක් වහාම සකස් කරන ලෙස නීතිපති දප්පුල ද ලිවේරා බලධාරීන්ට ඊයේ (08 වැනිදා) උපදෙස්දී තිබේ.

සෑම වර්ෂයකම වාර හතරකට වැඩියෙන් දහසකට වැඩි පිරිසක් බනධනාගාර ගත වන බව වාර්තාවේ.

රජයේ විශ්ව විද්‍යාලවල වෛද්‍ය පීඨ සඳහා ඇතුළත් කර ගන්නා සිසුන් සංඛ්‍යාව 350 කින් ඉහළ නැංවීමට අධ්‍යාපන අමාත්‍යංශ තීරණය කර තිබෙනවා.
