ජනාධිපතිවරණයේදී පක්ෂ ව්‍යවස්ථාව උල්ලංඝණය කළ ශ්‍රී ලංකා නිදහස් පක්ෂ අනුශාසිකා, හිටපු ජනාධිපතිනි චන්ද්‍රිකා බණ්ඩාරනායක කුමාරතුංග ඇතුළු පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රීවරුන්ගේ පක්ෂ සාමාජිකත්වය තහනම් කර විනය ක්‍රියාමාර්ග ගැනීමට එම පක්ෂයේ දේශපාලන මණ්ඩලය පෙරේදා (18 වැනිදා) තීරණය කළේය.

අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය රනිල් වික්‍රමසිංහ මහතා එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂයේ නායකත්වයෙන් ඉවත් නොවීම හේතුවෙන් අමාත්‍ය සජිත් ප්‍රේමදාසට සහය දක්වන පාර්ශ්වය දැඩි තීන්දුවක් ගැනීමට සූදානම් වනවා.

සජිත් ප්‍රේමදාස මහතාගේ පරාජයට සම්පූර්ණයෙන් වගකිව යුත්තේ සිංහල බෞද්ධ ජන්ද පදනම අහිමි වන ආකාරයේ බරපතල ප්‍රකාශ මැතිවරණ සමයේ සිදුකළ මංගල සමරවීර බවත් ඔහු සිදු කළ එම ප්‍රකාශ නිවැරදි කිරීමට සජිත් ප්‍රේමදාස මහතා කිසිවිටකත් කටයුතු නොකිරීම පිළිබදව තමන් විමතියට පත් වු බවත් ඔවුන් පවසයි.
