සිමෙන්ති සඳහා උපරිම සිල්ලර මිල නියම කරමින් අති විශේෂ ගැසට් නිවේදනයක් නිකුත් කර තිබෙනවා. ඒ, පාරිභෝගික කටයුතු පිළිබඳ අධිකාරියේ සභාපති විශ්‍රාමික මේජර් ජනරාල් ශාන්ත දිසානායක විසින්. ඒ අනුව මෙරට නිෂ්පාදිත කිලෝග්‍රෑම් 50 ක සිමෙන්ති ඇසුරුමක උපරිම සිල්ලර මිල රුපියල් 1005 ක් ලෙසයි දක්වා ඇත්තේ.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said yesterday that foreign funded NGOs had influenced our education system in subtle ways and the country needs to be ‘very vigilant’ with regard to what is inculcated in the minds of school children.

All non-career heads of missions and diplomatic officials have been asked to return to Colombo by 15 January.

Public officials should conduct themselves in an exemplary manner while providing a speedy and efficient service to the public who seek their services, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa told officers at the Department of Motor Traffic yesterday. He said there should be no room for any corruption and misconduct in the public service.

A report consisting of recommendations to develop the Sri Lanka Railways will be handed over to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa next week, State Minister, Railway Services C.B. Ratnayake told the Sunday Observer.

Sri Lanka’s public service with over 1.1 million government servants often criticized as overstaffed and inefficient is set to be rehauled to ensure competent people friendly service.

Sri Lanka is set to enact new laws to stop any public enterprise from being privatized and safeguard and protect government and state· owned entities ensuring an efficient, profit making national public entity.

The next Parliamentary meeting is scheduled to be held from 1.00 pm to 6.00 pm following the inauguration of the fourth session of the Eighth Parliament by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa on January 3, 2020.

The present government’s anti corruption efforts have already been put into practice with the commitment from political leaders as well as public support, official sources said.

The Government is set to introduce sweeping reforms in the public sector updating existing rules and regulations while providing legal provisions to grant immunity to officials who carry out their duties in good faith.
