The education system in the country must be completely restructured and that must begin at elementary level, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said.
He said the education system itself needs to be changed. Students should be assigned to higher education and another set of students should be assigned to vocational education depending on their skills.
Students with skills in both higher education and vocational education should be grouped in schools beginning in grade nine. By grouping them, more positive results could be achieved.
He expressed these views while addressing a meeting at the ministry yesterday. (Daily Mirror)
