The Sri Jayawardenapura University has decided to import a machine which could detect the Coronavirus from Singapore at a cost of around Rs. 82 million.

The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office has yesterday updated its travel advisory on Sri Lanka after a patient was tested positive for new coronavirus in the country.

Hotels and other places in the Galle district which were visited by the Chinese woman who was found infected with the Coronavirus will be checked, Southern Province Health Services Director Chandima Sirithunga said.

Chinese companies, operating in Sri Lanka, are reported to have directed their employees who have recently returned from China after the Chinese New Year festivities to undergo a 14-day period of self isolation before confirming they are not carriers of the coronavirus and are free of any symptoms.

Sri Lanka's Ministry of Tourism and Aviation State has asked SriLankan Airlines to consider resuming operations to Frankfurt Int'l and Paris CDG. The national airline announced the suspension of its flights to Frankfurt and Paris in October and November 2016 respectively.

All Sri Lankan students arriving from Wuhan, China would be moved to the Diyathalawa Army Camp for a two-week quarantine for any coronavirus symptoms, the Health Ministry said.
