The Central Bank (CB) on Thursday decided not to change policy interest rates, after a meeting of the regulator’s Monetary Board the previous day.

A passenger boat service between Wellawatte and Battaramulla will be launched on 11 March as a public service and allows passengers to travel between the two locations in 30 minutes.

Sri Lankan security agencies are stepping up surveillance, harassment, and threats against human rights activists and journalists, says Human Rights Watch (HRW).
