On the initiative of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe as Minister of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement, Rehabilitation and Northern Province Development and Youth Affairs, 10,000 brick and mortar type houses are being implemented in 2019 with GOSL funding for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and Refugee Returnees in the conflict-affected Northern and Eastern Provinces.
