Police to use minimal force against violence near petrol sheds

The Ministry of Public Security has instructed the police to use minimal force against those who behave violently near filling stations and during protests.

The instructions were given during a discussion between the Minister of Public Security and senior police officers yesterday.

The Ministry said instructions were given to maintain law and order in the event of such violence incidents.

During the meeting, it was also discussed on obtaining the assistance of the Army in addition to the Police to curb unrest at the filling stations.

However, the Minister said during the discussion that no action should be taken against peaceful protests. (Daily Mirror)
