The Lanka Labour Congress is to take a final decision today regarding which candidate they would pledge their allegiance to at the upcoming presidential election.
The party is scheduled to the final decision at the Central Committee meeting scheduled to be held at the Kotagala Labour Congress Headquarters today.
Although the party would take the decision to support one of the two main contenders either Sajith Premadasa or Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, so far the party had not taken a decision on the matter, said the party Deputy Chairman M. Rameshwaram, adding that certain media reports indicating their allegiance to both parties have been published in order to create a public opinion.
However, the majority of the party prominent members are more inclined towards extending their support to Sajith Premadasa.
