Presidential hopeful, Minister Sajith Premadsa is expected to make valiant effort to garner the support of minor parties in the UNF for his candidacy from the alliance to contest the upcoming elections.
The meeting is scheduled to be held today in sequence of the recent discussion between Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe and Minister Sajith Premadsa
Ministers Dr Rajitha Senaratne , Mangala Samaraweera Kabir Hashim, Ranjith Maddumabandara and Malik Samarawickrama Patali Champika Ranawake aong with the leaders of minority parties are expected to attend the meeting
At the previous meeting between Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has advised Minister Sajith Premadsa to hold discussions with UNF constituent parties and other minor parties and their views and consent for his candidacy before seeking UNP working committee endorsement.
Speaking to the media following the conclusion of the meeting, Minister Sajith Premadasa revealed that senior UNP members Kabir Hashim, Ranjith Maddumabandara and Malik Samarawickrama were also present during the discussion.
He stated that he was positive about the discussions which took place on Sept 10.Mr Sajith Premadasa noted that the fruits of the discussions could be seen in a few days.
